Green Guardians: Plant Distribution Drive
At MPS International School, environmental stewardship begins with our students. Since 2022,
the school has been organizing an annual Plant Distribution Drive during July–August. Students
are encouraged to collect seeds from fruits consumed during their summer vacation and
submit them to the school gardener upon reopening.
The seeds are nurtured into saplings within the school premises and are later distributed back
to the students. Students take responsibility for caring for their plants at home and regularly
share growth updates with their class teachers. This initiative promotes environmental
awareness, sustainability, and a sense of responsibility towards nature.

2. Reflection Room: A Safe Space for Expression

The Reflection Room provides students with a quiet and supportive environment where they can express their thoughts, concerns, and emotions freely. Students are invited to write letters addressed to the deity or higher power they believe in, sharing anything that may be troubling them. These letters are placed confidentially in a designated box. The Principal reviews the submissions periodically and takes appropriate steps to address concerns wherever possible. The room is designed to promote positivity and emotional well-being through a calm ambience, soothing music, and a peaceful atmosphere. This initiative encourages self-reflection, emotional resilience, and trust within the school community.

Care Cupboard

3. Care Cupboard: Sharing with Compassion

To foster empathy and community care, the school maintains a Care Cupboard that is stocked voluntarily by students, teachers, and staff members with biscuits, dry fruits, and other packaged food items. Any member of the school community who may need a quick snack or support during school hours can access the cupboard without hesitation. This simple yet impactful initiative promotes kindness, dignity, and the value of sharing.

Buddy Learning System

4. Buddy Learning System

Peer learning is an effective tool for academic growth. Under the Buddy Learning System, students are paired strategically to encourage collaboration and mutual support. The approach allows students to learn from one another, clarify doubts comfortably, and strengthen their understanding through discussion. Many students find it easier to seek help from their peers, creating a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. The system enhances confidence, communication skills, and academic achievement.

Greet with a Mantra

5. Greet with a Mantra

Respect, culture, and learning come together through the "Greet with a Mantra" initiative. Every month, students learn a new mantra, motivational verse, or educational recitation and present it with appropriate actions whenever a teacher or guest enters the classroom. Teachers also creatively use this opportunity to reinforce mathematical tables, square roots, cube roots, and other memory-based concepts. This practice nurtures confidence, cultural awareness, discipline, and communication skills.

Password of the Day

6. Password of the Day

Vocabulary development is integrated into the daily routine through the "Password of the Day" activity. Each morning, students are introduced to a curriculum-linked word during the class teacher period. Throughout the day, students use the word as a "password" when entering or leaving the classroom. This engaging strategy helps students learn new vocabulary, improve language proficiency, and strengthen retention through repeated usage in meaningful contexts.

Brain Energizers

7. Brain Energizers and Positive Mindset Practices

Every school day begins with activities designed to stimulate thinking, confidence, and positivity. These include positive affirmations, thought-provoking questions, student interactions with the Principal, theme-based assemblies, and day-wise prayer sessions. These activities contribute to students' emotional well-being, critical thinking skills, and overall readiness to learn, while fostering a positive school culture.

Find the Word Challenge

8. Find the Word Challenge

The "Find the Word Challenge" transforms reading into an engaging classroom activity. Students are informed in advance about the chapter to be studied. During the lesson, the teacher announces a word or concept, and students race to locate it within the textbook. The activity enhances reading speed, concentration, familiarity with textbooks, and active participation. Students who locate the word first are recognized for their attentiveness and effort.

Ambidextrous Learning Programme

9. Ambidextrous Learning Programme

The Ambidextrous Learning Programme encourages primary students to practice writing and drawing using both hands. The initiative is designed to promote greater hand-eye coordination, concentration, and motor skill development. Through carefully structured activities, students explore new ways of engaging their brains and developing flexibility in thinking and learning. The programme reflects the school's commitment to innovative educational practices that support holistic development.
